Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKEVIN ALLEN STIRE
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kevin Allen Stire, aged 67. He passed away after a short battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis on June 3, 2026 surrounded by his family.
Kevin was born in Oakville, Ontario on December 29, 1958 to his parents, Allen and Betty Stire. They then moved to Winnipeg in the year of 1972.
Kevin began his career with Canad Inns in the year of 1985 where he dedicated nearly 41 years. Hospitality was his passion and he left a lasting impression on all those he met throughout his career.
Kevin met the love of his life, Kimberly, who was also employed at Canad Inns at the time. They married in 1990 and shared four children together. Kevin was a devoted husband, father and even more importantly, a grandfather. He was a family man and always took care of everyone else before himself. Kevin has taken a piece of all our hearts but we are comforted knowing that he is no longer suffering.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly; and his four children, Brandan (Amanda), Taylor (Tim), Regan (Alyssa), Nicholas (Megan); his two young grandchildren; his mother Betty (Hari); and his sisters, Alyson and LesLee and their families.
Kevin was predeceased by his father, Allen.
In lieu of flowers, please join us for the Walk for Pulmonary Fibrosis on August 22, 2026 or donate as we raise awareness for this disease.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on June 25, 2026 at Canad Inns Garden City.

We are so sorry to hear of Kevin’s passing. Kevin and I go back to when he was the Beverage manager at the Winnipeg Convention Centre 1984. Didn’t take long for Kevin and I to become friends. I was glad I got to see Kevin a couple days before he passed. We had so many great times over the 42 years we knew each other. He would do anything for anyone at anytime. The hotel business was definitely where he was meant to be. Kevin single handily built the banquet business at the GCI so that it was busy with weddings, birthday parties etc it was getting tough to find an open date for your event. But he always fit you and your event in somehow. Kevin knew everything about the hotel and how it should be managed. Whether a glitch at the vendor or actually serving brunch on Mother’s Day to buying the fellas a drink. Kevin always had time to book another event. I didn’t see Kevin as much in the last 5 years or so but whenever I would bump into him we always shared a story and had a laugh. He knew my family very well, and when I would see him (including the last time we saw each other) he asked how my entire family is doing. Going thru all of them name by name. Kevin was a special kind of person, a great father, grandfather and a great husband to Kim. Our friendship meant a lot to me for all those years, rest easy my friend. Love Mike, Dawn, Ryan and family, Blair and family Rest easy my friend. - Posted by: Mike and Dawn Mooney (Long time friend) on: Jun 13, 2026
